This farm is a fledgling community center, set on 29 acres in upper Dutchess County, New York, where people of diverse bodies, minds, and backgrounds will learn about and practice horticulture, wild food identification and cooking, herbal healing, and a wide array of arts from weaving to tai chi. Eliza was inspired to create such a unique place as her son Felix has cerebral palsy and is on the autism spectrum. This weekend's guest is Devon Leaver. Devon is a New York City based film maker and vocalist, whose credits include HBO, Activision Blizzard Entertainment Inc, and the Sundance Film Festival. Devon joins us today to discuss an experimental film she wrote and directed - Galoot. Galoot explores the feeling of what it means to grow up on the autism spectrum and is informed by Devon’s childhood writing and drawings.
