SUMMARY:A Virtual Art Show in Partnership with SUNY Empire College
DESCRIPTION:SUNY Empire State College\, in partnership with Anderson Center for Autism\, will host a virtual art show featuring artwork created by members of the Anderson Center community.\n   \n  \n    \n      A Virtual Art Show in Partnership with Anderson Center for Autism\n     \n    \n\n    \n      SUNY Empire State College\, in partnership with Anderson Center for Autism\, will host a virtual art show featuring artwork created by members of the Anderson Center community. The virtual gallery will be open from April 12 to April 16\, with an official opening event on April 13 from 6 to 7 p.m.The opening event\, to be held via Zoom\, will feature Pamala Rogers\, director of Pure Vision Arts (PVA) in New York City. PVA is New York’s first specialized art studio and exhibition space for people with autism and people who identify as neurodiverse. \n     \n    \n      Rogers will discuss PVA and the culture of autism and neurodiversity\, as well as showcase artwork from some of the organization’s artists. She will also spotlight the work of William Britt Rockland\, a self-taught painter with autism who survived the Willowbrook State School\, the infamous (now shuttered) Staten Island facility for people with mental disabilities\, where he lived for 34 years.\n     \n    \n      Registration is required.
