May 10, 2022 Months after opening its first preschool in Stanfordville at Cold Spring Elementary School (September, 2021), Anderson Center for Autism has finalized a name and brand for the early childhood program: Anderson Early Learning Academy. Along with officially naming its preschool, the executive leadership team at Anderson also unveiled a logo for the Academy.
“Anderson Early Learning Academy’s brand is the result of a very deliberate process that involved many of our team members. We think it captures the heart of our efforts to provide an exceptional learning experience for children in a warm, nurturing atmosphere,” said Patrick Paul, CEO/Executive Director of Anderson Center for Autism.
Paul explained that Anderson Learning Academy serves children ages 3-5 with behavioral characteristics of autism and related disorders.
Rooted in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, Anderson Early Learning Academy incorporates occupational therapy, speech therapy, and physical therapy, along with special education, into its evidence-based program. The classrooms include a self-contained special education room as well as an integrated setting. Both offer learning and therapeutic experiences customized to the needs of each individual child. Families of enrollees participate in regular team meetings and also have opportunities for in-home education and support to ensure that the skills being taught can be generalized to each student’s home environment.
Added Dr. Tina Covington, Chief Operating Officer at Anderson Center for Autism, “We developed the idea for an early learning program as our response to a tremendous need that had existed for far too long in the Mid-Hudson Valley. The early childhood years are a critical time during which proper education and interventions can maximize long-term potential for success. This is true not only for neurotypical children, but especially for the neurodivergent population. Anderson Center for Autism, which is a nonprofit organization, also offers educational, vocational, and residential services to people with Autism Spectrum Disorder on its Staatsburg campus and offsite throughout Dutchess, Orange, and Ulster Counties.
