Anderson Foundation for Autism Awards Grant to BluePath Service Dogs 

It’s Autism Awareness Month! We’re kicking it off by acknowledging the fantastic work of an organization that truly embodies our mission to Optimize the Quality of Life for Individuals with Autism – BluePath Service Dogs! 

Based in Wappingers Falls, NY, BluePath Service Dogs is a nonprofit organization that matches services dogs with autistic individuals. Each dog is provided with over 1,500 hours of specialized training to keep children with autism safe through the crucial anchor skill. This effectively helps prevent dangerous bolting behaviors someone may face. Children are also provided with companionship and helps develop independence and cultivate feelings of self-confidence. 

Approaching it’s 10th anniversary, BluePath Service Dogs’ efforts provides invaluable support to families. Since their inception, they’ve matched 61 dogs with children on the autism spectrum and placed nine facility dogs in educational settings. It’s Paws to Learn® program, designed to provide emotional support, has reached more than 2,500 children and adults – while it’s Facility Therapy Dog program, designed to enhance therapies and reduce anxiety has helped more than 7,700 children! 

In 2025, Anderson Foundation for Autism recognized and awarded BluePath Service Dogs with a $5,000 grant so they can continue the incredible work they are doing to help the autism community.
