Hannoush Jewelers, Poughkeepsie, will donate $4,350 to Anderson Center for Autism, Staatsburg – the result of its initiative with the center involving the New York Yankees.
The family-owned jewelery retailer approached the center in 2015 about naming it a charitable beneficiary of the Poughkeepsie store located in the Galleria mall, 2001 South Road, Route 9.
For every game the Yankees won during the 2015 regular season, the store donated $50 to the center. With a total of 87 games won, Hannoush owner Michael Halpy will donate the funds to the center’s programming and integrated support services both on campus and within the community.
“Each store’s connection to the community is crucial,” said Hannoush owner Michael Halpy. “Dutchess County is our home and we make every effort to embrace our neighbors. What Anderson does within our community is worthy of every cent.”
Anderson Center for Autism is a not-for-profit autism treatment and care center that provides programming for both children and adults with autism. The center employs 800 specialists who are expertly trained to diagnose, treat, and care for adults and children on the autism spectrum.
