OUR CLINIC PROCESS

How to Enroll in Services
at Anderson Center Clinic

Finding the right setting and ABA therapy services for your child is an exciting milestone, because it can help set the stage for a lifetime of success.

At Anderson Center Clinic in Latham, you’ll enjoy an experience that is supportive, collaborative, transparent, and highly personalized.

Step 1

Introduce Yourself to our Team!

Our professionals at Anderson Center Clinic look forward to meeting you. Reach out by phone, email, or through our information request form to make an initial contact. We’ll get back to you as quickly as possible to learn more about your child and to explain how our programs work.

Step 2

Preliminary Assessment

As a family member or caregiver, you can expect to receive a preliminary set of questions. We will then assess your responses to determine whether Anderson Center Clinic is a suitable fit. If deemed eligible, then you will move on to Step 3.

Step 3

Intake Process and Paperwork

If approved to move forward, you will receive an intake packet to complete. This includes required paperwork, as well as requests for supporting documentation, which may include proof of medical diagnosis, Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and any relevant notes from the child’s physician or other providers.

Step 4

Insurance and/or Payment Planning

Once you confirm with your health insurance carrier that ABA is a covered service, our team will record your active health insurance information.  Details on coinsurance and/or copays will be disclosed, and payment arrangements can be organized. We accept CDPHP and other New York State health insurance plans, and we’re also proud to offer flexible private pay options that fit most budgets.

Step 5

Program Development & Service Delivery

Once your child is accepted to the Anderson Center Clinic, we will develop an individualized treatment plan designed to maximize potential for your autistic or neurodivergent loved one. We will then get Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services underway, providing ongoing support throughout the journey!

Our Clinic & Programs

We have many offerings available at Anderson Center Clinic! Our services include Adaptive Functioning and Functional Behavior Assessments, 1:1 ABA services during daytime hours for early learners (birth–age 6) focused on functional communication, social language, and adaptive skills such as leisure, play, and toilet training, as well as 1:1 ABA services during daytime hours for students who do not have school placements with the same focus areas. We also offer Afterschool Social Groups for 6–10 year olds (and are open to offering social groups for older children should needs arise), along with our Road to Readiness program for young learners preparing for successful school days ahead!

    One-to-One Options

Our 1:1 ABA services focus on increasing functional communication, developing age-appropriate functional play and leisure skills, building independence across activities of daily living (toileting, sleep, feeding, play), and cultivating school readiness skills: focus, attention, communication, following schedules, and the development of adaptive behaviors.

    Social Skills Groups

Our afterschool social groups focus on enhancing social skills with peers, group readiness skills, building independence, and learning how to navigate expectations of others. FAQs

      Frequently Asked Questions

      How do I get started?

Call our team at (518) 641-1119 (select option #3) or email AndersonClinic@AndersonCares.org. An information request form is also available on this page. Either way, you can expect a response within a few days to discuss your student’s individual needs, address any questions you have, and for a review of next steps. School districts can refer students directly as well.

Do you offer Applied Behavior Analysis therapy?

Yes, our programs are all rooted in the principles of ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), which is evidence-based. Whether your student is in our social skills group, Road to Readiness program, or taking advantage of one-to-one services with our Licensed Behavior Analysts, we are always building highly respected, results-oriented tools and strategies into everything we do to ensure the best possible outcomes!

What documents are needed for enrollment?

Every situation is different, but we may request educational records (including current IEP or 504 plan), psychological and educational evaluations, medical records and immunization history, autism diagnosis documentation, and any relevant behavioral assessments or reports. We will keep you informed on any documentation we need, and we’re here to answer questions every step of the way.

How do you develop a program that is right for my child?

By carefully reviewing your child’s strengths and needs with you, along with assessing educational, medical, and psychological records, we will create a highly customized plan designed to enhance your child’s social, behavioral, and communication skills. You will play an integral role in this process, and we will regularly evaluate how our ABA program is working for your child so that we can do everything possible to build the foundation for a bright future ahead.

What services do you offer at Anderson Center Clinic?

We offer one-to-one services during daytime hours, both for early learners (birth through age 6) and for students who do not have school placements. We also host afterschool social groups for 6-10 year olds, and a Road to Readiness program for children in their early childhood years (to prepare them for Kindergarten). We are also open to setting up social groups for older children should needs arise. Everything we do is designed to empower young people with the tools and confidence needed to thrive in all areas of their lives.

How do I pay for these services?

Funding for Anderson Center Clinic services can sometimes be covered by insurance (we accept CDPHP and some other New York State health insurance options). We also offer flexible private pay options.

What skills do you focus on in the 1:1 ABA sessions?

Our one-to-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) sessions are geared toward building functional communication, age-appropriate play and leisure skills, and helping children become more independent in activities of daily living (toileting, sleep, feeding, etc). We also seek to cultivate school readiness by working on the development of focus, attention, communication, routine-following, and adaptive behaviors.

What is the Road to Readiness program?

Road to Readiness is designed specifically with soon-to-be Kindergartners in mind. We aim to help these young learners develop an understanding of the structures and routines that come with classroom time, as well as confidence when it comes to peer interactions. Our hope is that this program will provide children with a strong sense of self, that it will prepare them for a successful academic journey ahead.

What credentials do Anderson Center Clinic team members have?

Our professionals at Anderson Center Clinic include Licensed Behavior Analysts, Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT), and Behavior Technicians (BT). All are highly trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and it is clear that they genuinely love what they do! The families with whom they have worked report many positive outcomes, and often reflect on the fact that our team truly believes in their children and shows unwavering commitment to maximizing their potential.
