Casey Kirkpatrick, MS CCC-SLP, Article 16 Lead Therapist, Adult Services
For innovative programming which optimizes the quality of life for individuals with autism
This year’s award recipient is a team member who goes beyond traditional methods, incorporating new technologies and personalized strategies to enhance communication skills and foster confidence in the adults we serve.
This team member initiated evaluations for speech devices that were previously outsourced to other providers. By streamlining this process, our staff have more input on the content on each individual’s device and can ensure the content is appropriate for the program.
This team member has initiated collaboration with the Day Program to produce more age-appropriate lessons. Because of her oversight of the occupational therapy program, the Adaptive Design program is now incorporated into weekly OT sessions.
Today we honor Casey Kirkpatrick, who demonstrates innovation and creative thinking and approaches to challenges which get in the way of optimizing the quality of life for the people in our care.
