Anderson Center for Autism has announced that registration is now open for its 22nd annual gala event on Saturday, October 1st, which will take place at The Grandview, 176 Rinaldi Boulevard, Poughkeepsie, New York. Sponsored in part by Susan Brune and Chip Loewenson and Pamal Broadcasting, the gala is expected to raise over $200,000 to help Anderson Center for Autism carry out its mission of optimizing the quality of life for people with autism.
The 2022 Anderson gala will include recognition of Northern Dutchess Hospital Caregivers, winners of the 2022 V.V. Anderson Community Service Award. According to the executive leadership team at Anderson, the recognition is a result of the “dedication and expertise these nurses and caregivers brought to the entire community throughout the pandemic, especially to our students, residents, and team members.”
In addition, a team member from Anderson will be recognized with the 2022 Above and Beyond Award that evening; the name of that honoree is yet to be announced.
Said Patrick Paul, CEO/Executive Director at Anderson Center for Autism, “Nurses, caregivers, and direct support professionals in communities throughout the country and in every corner of the world always lead by example, and it will be our great privilege to acknowledge the dedication of some of our local heroes at this year’s gala. The Above and Beyond Award winner will be announced at a later date, but for now we are thrilled to share the news that we’ll be publicly applauding the caring, dedicated caregivers from Northern Dutchess Hospital/Nuvance Health. They collectively embody an admirable spirit of service, and have really been present to their neighbors with autism here at Anderson – particularly as we endured the challenges of these past few years. It really does take a village, and we are lucky to have this compassionate, hardworking group of people as part of our circle of support.”
Northern Dutchess Hospital’s caregivers provide a comprehensive range of emergency, medical and surgical services in an 84-bed acute care, community facility in Rhinebeck.
“Our community is fortunate to have the Anderson Center for Autism as an exceptional provider of services for people with autism,” said Denise George, president of Northern Dutchess Hospital. “The recognition of our caregivers at this year’s gala is a shining example of their commitment throughout the pandemic to provide safe, high-quality care.”
The event is black-tie optional and will include a champagne toast, dinner, dancing, a silent auction, program, and more. Reservations must be made in advance.
Said Eliza Bozenski, Chief Development Officer, Anderson Foundation for Autism, “It will no doubt be a celebratory and elegant evening in honor of the incredible people who help us optimize the quality of life for people with autism, and who especially helped sustain us during the past few years. The caregivers at Northern Dutchess Hospital, along with team members like the 2022 Above and Beyond Award winner, have all been tireless in their efforts to protect the well-being of our students, residents, and team members. We recently thanked all eligible Anderson team members with $10,000 bonuses, and now we want to publicly say ‘10,000 Thank Yous’ to our community as well. The gala is a perfect chance to do so.”
